Mission San Juan Capistrano Engagement Photos
I had the honor to take engagement photos for a very cool couple this month. Nikki and Gabriel planned for a May engagement photo shoot in sunny Southern California, and the original photo shoot locations are the LA Arboretum and Laguna Beach. Our plan changed due to an unexpected rain storm. Because the makeup artist was already scheduled for the bride-to-be, I picked another photo shoot location that has covers for the couple instead. They were very flexible and we narrowed down to Mission San Capistrano and Laguna Beach as our engagement shoot locations in Orange County. Despite the rain, the photos turned out great.

Engagement Photo Idea: We wanted to get the Save the Date out of the way so the chalk won’t smear – great suggestion from the couple!
I love their chic style in a Mission setting. I would recommend Mission San Juan Capistrano for a rainy day engagement photos or to any couple who likes Mission style engagement photos.
Laguna Beach Engagement Photos
For our second location, we headed out to Laguna Beach for the late afternoon session, hoping to catch some beach sunset engagement photos.
Tips for staying warm during a Photo Shoot: Hot drinks! We grabbed Starbucks, the couple treated me to coffee and pastry. (Thanks Nikki and Gabe!)
As we were driving there, literally, there was a ray of hope in the form of sunshine. We begin to see the sun coming out, but it was still very cloudy when we got there.
Engagement Photo Idea: The couple brought scramble pieces to spell out different words, such as “LOVE”.
Finally the the sun begin to set and we headed over to the Laguna Beach’s rock formation. The sunset is what we were all waiting for and my favorite engagement shots are here.
